Who we are

The Las Vegas Street Medic collective offers care to our community; to participants at protests, those having health issues that are without shelter, and those with extreme mental health states. Believing that friends make the best medicine, we strive to offer care and compassion to all.

We teach you the skills to be a Street Medic to be able to offer support to people in medical need at protests and demonstrations, to people needing assistance who are without healthcare, and to those in emotional distress needing urgent care and compassion.

Learn basic first aid, how to recognize and respond to injuries from police weapons / tactics, and other emergency medical care skills that can be valuable during protests and beyond.

Street Medics are activists who provide first aid and medical care in the diverse and challenging environments offered by uprisings, urban protests, occupations, long marches, civil disobedience, and direct actions.

We, under the guidance of experienced Street Medics, will learn basic first aid, recognize and respond to police weapons / tactics, and other important skills to build preparedness as activists and street medics.

The twenty hour training will teach basic first aid skills valuable for protests and beyond. It will give you valuable skills, knowledge and confidence you can use anywhere, not just at protests, for you and your affinity group. You will learn interventions that include treating a sprained ankle, wound care, chemical weapons decontamination, more complex medical problems, to emotional aftercare. Course trainers are experienced practitioners, activists, and educators. There are no prerequisites. For those who are wanting to participate, it will be a full twenty hours with the expectation that you can attend the whole training.

We request the commitment to both days and the full hours of training provided to respect the time and commitment of our trainers. This course is also valuable for people with advanced medical training, creating a new context for skills and knowledge. This course will help you to be safer and stronger in your activism. Expect to have lots of fun ! Donations accepted to defray costs; no one turned away for lack of funds.
